Local authorities, in partnership with many other emergency response agencies, also prepare for emergencies except on a much larger scale. Planning for an emergency on this scale is aimed at protecting life, property and the environment by assessing the hazards that the community faces and developing response and recovery arrangements to ensure that we are more resilient. Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council have a dedicated Emergency Planning/Business Resilience Officer who works closely with neighbouring councils, Police, Fire, Health, Armed Services and voluntary agencies to ensure that effective planning arrangements are in place.
