| Nappies - What's the choice and why?You may think that using disposables is convenient, but have you thought about the environmental effects? Disposable facts: 95 disposable nappies are thrown into landfill sites every second of every day in the UK. In just one day that will total over 8 million which will result in a staggering three billion in just one year in the UK. Our aim is to give parents an informed choice about alternatives to disposable nappies so that they can help to reduce the burden these place on our environment. The Borough Council are running free events as follows: Real Nappies at Wriggly Readers- Real nappy information sessions will take place throughout the year at selected libraries across the borough. The sessions will follow Wriggly Readers, story times for 0-4 year olds, at local libraries. A council representative and real nappy user will be available with samples to look at and handle, and will be able to answer any real nappy questions. Dates and times for Autumn/Winter 2008 are:
Bank Holiday Nappuccino Nappuccinos are fun, informal events where the benefits of real nappies are explained in a relaxed atmosphere. Monday 25 August - Hinckley Leisure Centre (creche area), 10am - 2pm Event will include:
*Voucher is valid only on reusable nappy products purchased at the Nappuccino event on 25 August. Offer open to Hinckley & Bosworth borough residents only, one voucher per household. Keep an eye on our website for other real nappy events in the borough in 2008! Remember, there are local advisers who can provide a home demonstration visit if this is more convenient.
