The Activ8 process and the Community Plan are our way of achieving sustainable development at the local level.

The key to achieving this is taking action, taking actions as individuals, families, neighbourhoods, communities, businesses and organisations.

Ideas of the actions that are needed and identified as important by the local community are contained within the Community Plan. Details of how to obtain a copy of this plan can be found on the Activ8 page.

It is important to be aware that the actions that we take have an impact upon the local community and on communities elsewhere in the world as well. This provides an opportunity to make positive choices, which can benefit everyone.

These choices can be simple changes that we as individuals can make in our day-to-day lives. These may be simple choices such as the brand of coffee or tea that we buy, sharing a lift to work, buying local food from the farmers' market, using peat-free compost in our gardens or changing our electricity supplier to one that uses renewably generated electricity.
